Blackberry settles dispute

Shares in Research In Motion, makers of the iconic Blackberry, rose 18% after a long running patent dispute with Canada-based RIM was settled yesterday.
RIM had alleged infringement of a number of its patents, including on its use of radio technology, and was upheld by the appeal courts in a $450m (£233m) ruling.
Blackberry already have over 2 million users of its e-mail device, with revenues of $365.9 million over the past year generating $90.4 million in profits.
