It's a shame I'm haven't kept up with political intrigue involved - but I'm sure it would make a darn interesting book. The apparent signals in the media are that the Kremlin came down on Yukos for daring to be outside of its political control, as per here: Q&A: The battle for Yukos While most of Russia's other oligarchs concentrated on simply getting richer and richer, and on getting their money out of the country, Mr Khodorkovsky went into politics and used his fortune to fund opposition groups. However, it remains to be seen how the accusations actually cope under scrutiny in a Moscow court.
