According to a global study by comScore, Google was the global leader for searches in August.
During the month, over 61 billion searches were performed by more than 750 million users, and 37 billion of these searches were carried out via Google.
Google was responsible for more searches than all the other major search engines combined.
Yahoo was responsible for 8.5 billion searches in August, and was placed second in terms of the number of searches carried out, with Baidu, the Chinese language search engine, in third place with 3.2 billion.
The study found that the most active region for searches was the Asia-Pacific region. There were more than 258 million unique users in this region, who carried out a total of 20.3 billion searches.
Europe recorded 210 million searches and was the second most active region, with North America in third place with 206 million searches.
The Middle East-Africa region had the lowest level of activity, with just 30 million searches carried out in August.
