« Land Registry opens online database of price | Main | Amazon suffers lack in market confidence » February 02, 2005Busy day for GoogleRefusing to allow Microsoft's new MSN search too much shine, Google kicked back with massive profits report and new marketing initiatives. Deliver Q4 earnings to the financial markets, Google reported a massive leap to net revenues of $653.5 million in the quarter, compared to $296 million for the entire previous year. This means that Google's market value stood at $55 billion on close of tuesday - which is more than General Motors and Ford together. Attempting to add to growth, Google has also released a couple of significant marketing initiatives. The first is that Gmail users are now no longer limited to just six invites, but can now send out 50 invites to get people to join the free e-mail service. Added to that, Google has also started a beta affiliates program for its AdWords program, which offers $20 on every new sign up after a specified minimum spend of $75.
